Not out says the Umpire!!

Yes, hard but true!! India lost the opportunity to get into Super 8s. They have shattered the hopes of too many Indian fans, infact crazy Indian fans. I believe many prayers for the Indian cricket team have gone for nothing. All the wishes sent from the billion populated nation has gone worthless. The Indian cricket "role models" have not performed their "role". All the above stated statements are tautologies.

As an Indian cricket fan, I would still hope for India to get the world cup, if not this time, atleast in the years to come. It really doesn't make sense when people fume our cricketers house when they have not performed in the world cup matches. As cricket fans, we need to back them up and encourage them to perform better, or atleast never criticize them. Everyday atleast 15% of the internet bandwidth goes for criticizing the Indian cricket team. Forwards which mock Indian cricket team, an April Fool mail stating Indian team has reached Super 8s, finding sarcastic reasons for Indian team losing against Srilanka and many others are going to belittle our Indian players confidence and in no way is going to boost them up or pat them up for the next world cup.

When a kid fails, it is the responsibility of the parents to cheer up the kid and get the kid up and growing rather than just beating the kid asking for why the kid shattered the parents dreams. After-all cricket is another sport and it has to be treated as a sport. After all it is a matter of 100 overs and nothing remains after that. Sports are always meant to be as a part of entertainment and never meant to demolish things. Please stop criticizing our Indian (wounded) cricketers!!

Will this coincidence be converted to an incident?

World Cup 2007, the "War of the Cricketing Nations". After having lost to Bangladesh and enjoying an emphatic victory over the minnows Bermuda, Can India continue on going forward to win the world cup 2007? Here are some interesting coincidences!!

1. Captain of India in 1983 was Kapil Dev and now in 2007 is Rahul Dravid - Both the captains have their second name starting with the same character 'D'
2. The captain of India before 1983 was Sunil Gavaskar and the captain of India before 2007 world cup was Sourav Ganguly - Both the x-Captains have their first characters of their names the same 'SG'
3. Both the players Sunil Gavaskar and Sourav Ganguly open the Indian innings when they played for the world cup in 1983 and 2007 respectively
4. After world cup 1983, the next world cup was played in India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka and similarly World cup 2011 would be played at India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh
5. Prince Charles got married in 1981, exactly 2 years before India won the world cup. Now again he got married in 2005, exactly 2 years before 2007 world cup.
6. Australia lost the Ashes cup before 1983 world cup. Similarly Australia lost the ashes cup before 2007 world cup.

So will India win? In 1983 India stopped West Indies becoming a hat-trick world cup champions. Will India stop Australia from becoming a hat-trick world cup champions in 2007?

Lull before Storm or Storm before Lull!!

The Blue Bees have flew to W'indies to play the most expected World Cup 2007. India, a strong team (?) as the Blue Billions call it, have the most exciting and a capable lineup. The most experienced/exciting batsman of the century S R Tendulkar, one of the best orthodox batsman Rahul Dravid, The Bengal Tiger Sourav, the most dangerous opener Sehwag and an over-match Hero Dhoni and the list goes on. Having such a beautiful line up, it still keeps everyone wondering why really did India lose against the upcoming cricketers of Bangladesh. Is that because of their sluggishness or over-confidence or their defensive stance. Infact this is a mixture of all of them. But more than this, I would attribute the loss to the most expecting Indian cricket craziers. In India, cricket is not just a sport, instead cricket is a religion. More the amount of craziness, more is the pressure on the Indian Legends. Having so much pressure it is always an expected outcome to lose the simplest of matches.

India has never had the greatest of starts in the recent world cups. They are always expected to lose in their first match and following it, it is customery that the Indian Crickets Fans, blow up our Indian Cricketers residents. Expectations becomes Demands for the Indian cricket team and there is where they perform the best, LULL before STORM, a perfect example India Vs Bermuda. All the players stormed in to pile up such a record score of 413/5. Now having reached the STORM part of it, will it go back to LULL soon. We need to have our eyes open on the 23rd of March 2007 when India meets the SriLankans.

Hopefully the Lull to Storm doesn't go back to Lull soon.

Rules - Fun - Life

The most seen happening in most of the metro cities in India, people never pay heed to traffic signals. From my observation, the main cause (entities, not reasons) for most of the accidents are Autos, Cyclists and Pedestrains. I very rarely see vehicles in the above categories following the traffic rules. Most of the times Auto Dirvers never look at traffic signals.

The maximum speed of an Auto can be seen when the traffic lights change from Green to Amber and to Red. The general assumption of an autowala is that if the front wheel of his vehicle gets into a gap, he strongly feels that the whole vehicle gets through the gap. Everyday morning atleast one Auto hits another vehicle and causes a traffic jam. Shortest duration of time can be measured when the traffic signal changes from Red to Green and the Autowala at your back horns.

Needless to say, Cyclists hardly follow any rules. Simple reason being they cannot be traced (No number plates). Amidst any traffic jam, these people have the previlege of not bothering about the traffic or the signal to cross roads and proceed with their journey.

Pedestrains, ooohhh the urgency of a pedestrian is directly proportional to the speed of the vehicle about to hit them. Waiting for just few seconds would never risk their life, but they always love to lead a risky life. I always wonder if the Pedestrian Signal ever matters in India.

Having these people aside, most of the times the Traffic Seargent who sees all these hardly cares to take any steps. This wonders me. Their main job is to ensure that everyone follows rules and regulations. But they simply watch people going against the rules. Irritating isn't it?

Everyone on the roads, these days, follow a simple mantra, "If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun". But for the fun of few, many have lost their precious lives. Every year atlest few hundreds lose their lives because of someone's fun.

Will this change atleast in the days to come?

Does maturity really exist?

Often I wonder what does the term Maturity actually mean. I came up with lots of instances which everyone calls Maturity!!

1. Understanding others emotions
2. Behaving according to environmental conditions
3. Having a broad-mind to accept and adjust to situations
4. Controlling one's emotions and being patient
5. Facing truth boldly
6. Completing a job independantly without anyone's assistance
7. Facing a situation and solving it in a fashion which is beneficiary to the most
8. Maturity is humility
9. Demonstrating respect
10. Not being egotic or egocentric
11. Accepting others advice and the list grows.

Reading these few questions arise,
1. What do you call a person who has only few qualities of the above? Is he not a matured person or is he a semi-matured person or is still getting matured? If so almost everyone fall into this category.
2. If a person has all the above stated qualities, (s)he is DEFINITELY the IDEAL. But can this be met? "IDEAL" is something which cannot be reached but can only be compared with (My opinion, refutes please?)
3. Of all the above states, "Experience" was not a part of the discussion at all. But why do people always relate Maturity with Experience. Can't a kid show some of these qualities?

A small kid does not have any ego, accepts others advice, speaks only truth. Having some above stated qualities, can we call the kid matured? A grown boy has lots of above qualities but obviously does not match all of them. So can we call him matured? A granny has some qualities, so can we call them matured?

So from which age does a person starts getting matured? If maturity is going to start from birth, then "does maturity really exist" as a separate entity?
